Galway Bay fm newsroom - Two local councillors are shining a light on some of the barriers facing women who wish to enter politics.

An online event next month (04/10) called Galway Women in Politics, is aimed at encouraging more women into local politics to boost representation in councils.

The information session will see a panel including representatives from 'See Her Elected', who are organising the event, alongside local councillors.

Councillors Shelly Herterich-Quinn and Geraldine Donohue will attend the event, and they are highlighting what they see as the main barriers to women in politics:
