Local senator renews call to scrap age restrictions for school bus drivers

The age limit that prevents qualified drivers over the age of 70 from driving school buses must be scrapped.

That's according to local senator Sean Kyne, who says the rule is outdated and counterproductive at a time of driver shortages.

The issue has been raised many times in recent years, but despite indications the situation might be looked at, nothing has changed.

Fine Gael Senator Sean Kyne says it's just about common sense.
