There's no money to be found for badly needed footpath repairs in the Tuam area.
That was the message delivered at the latest meeting of local area councillors.
Council engineers said road repairs are being given priority, particularly potholes which are a serious safety concern.
Councillor Mary Hoade took some satisfaction in hearing that funding for the upkeep of the N84 could be used to repair some footpaths on that road.
But she told us there's some footpaths in Headford in a desperate state - and there really needs to be a seperate fund for general footpaths.
