N63 closes near Abbeyknockmoy after truck overturns

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The N63 near Abbeyknockmoy has closed to allow for the recovery of a truck which overturned this morning.

The incident happened at Derreen at around 7.30 this morning.

While the section of the N63 between Abbeyknockmoy and Horseleap Cross was cleared shortly after the incident Gardai have now closed it to allow for the removal of the truck from the side of the road.

It's expected the road will remain closed for about two hours.

Gardai are currently at the scene and motorists are being advised that diversions will be in place.

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital this morning as a precaution but it's understood nobody suffered serious injury during the incident.
