New Housing Liaison Officer to be appointed for Tuam Municipal District

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A new Housing Liaison Officer is set to be appointed shortly for the Tuam electoral area - following a six month vacancy.

The announcement was made at this week's meeting of Galway County Council in Corrundulla.

It comes as Tuam Municipal District has been without a housing officer since the previous official retired in June.

Local councillor Andrew Reddington is one of those who has criticised the long-running delays in appointing a new officer.

He says the situation has caused considerable difficulties for tenants and local authority staff.
