NUIG Students Union President issues alert to students ahead of upcoming term

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The President of NUI Galway's Students' Union is issuing an alert to students ahead of the upcoming academic year.

Clare Austick is reminding students and parents to be vigilant to rental accommodation scams in the city.

She's joining the Union of Students in Ireland and the Gardai who have teamed up to raise awareness of fraudsters who target vulnerable students.

They're urging people to take extreme caution before making an agreement with a landlord.
