One arrest for drunk driving was made and 8 drivers were caught using a mobile phone during a recent Garda operation in Headford.
As part of the multi-agency Operation Intercept, Gardaí, the RSA and Revenue Customs carried out a series of checkpoints this week.
One driver was arrested for failing the roadside test for intoxicated driving, two fake driving licences were detected and 26 defective vehicles were discovered.
Eight Fixed Charge Notices were issued for using a mobile phone, while there were also notices issued for no tax, no NCT and non-conforming number plates.
