Over 1.3 million euros has been awarded to successful community climate projects in Galway city and county.
Projects in the area of Galway county council recieved just under 900 thousand euros in funding.
Meanwhile, within the city councils boundary, projects receievd a total of over half a million euros.
The figure for Galway County was the 6th highest amount given to a local authority outside of Dublin.

The funding, announced by Minister for Climate, Energy and the environment, Darragh O Brien, was part of a 29.5 million nationwide package, which is phase 2 of the community action climate programme.
