Post mortem exam after body of missing Clifden man recovered

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A post mortem examination will be carried out today after the body of missing Clifden man Cathal Whelan was recovered.

A public appeal was issued by Gardai for the missing 23 year old at the weekend.

His body was recovered at approximately 5pm yesterday at the Owenglen River near the Ballyconneely Road on the west side of Clifden.

It followed an extensive search of the local area.
