Power restored to thousands of homes and businesses in city

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Power has been fully restored to thousands of homes and businesses in the city following a major fault.

The outages were due to a fault at a substation in the Ballybane Industrial Estate this morning.

While service was quickly restored to most areas, hundreds of premises were left without power for several hours.

The ESB has now restored service to all areas in the past hour.
