President of Ireland Catherine Connolly will officially open the 2026 Watersports Inclusion Games at the Port of Galway tomorrow.
The event celebrates watersports for people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds, with up to 400 participants and 300 volunteers set to be involved this weekend.
Acitivities such as sailing, water skiing and a sensory area will be taking place at the Port of Galway, the Galway Sea Scouts Den and the Galway Hooker Sailing Club in the New Docks
After the ceremony, the President will travel to the nearby RNLI station for a short sail on a Galway Hooker boat.
The Watersports Inclusion Games is organised by Irish Sailing in association with Canoeing Ireland and Galway Local Sports Partnership, together with Galway Sea Scouts, Galway Hooker Sailing Club, Galway City Sailing Club and Galway Bay Sailing Club.
Activities are also supported by Sailing into Wellness, Diving Ireland and Kinsale Outdoor Education Centre.
Numerous local and national organisations, including Safe Haven Sailing, along with clubs and training centres from across the country, are providing additional resources, volunteers, instructors and facilitators to support the event.
