A fourth-year University of Galway student has claimed the prestigious Hamilton prize - the top undergraduate mathematical accolade.
Salthill native Dara Colleran has been recognised by the Royal Irish Academy for excellence in his final year of study, and he's planning to go on to do a Masters in Maths.
Along with the certificate of achievement, Dara received a cash prize of €500 and an exclusive masterclass from Harvard’s Professor Laura DeMarco.
