A status orange wind warning has been issued for Galway this weekend.

Storm Atiyah is expected to hit the west coast on Sunday, with strong winds and high seas expected.

Met Eireann is also warning over the possibility of coastal flooding from high winds and storm surges.

The Orange wind warning will come into effect from 9am on Sunday until 6am on Monday.
