Galway Bay fm newsroom - There's been a step forward in a long running campaign to build a playground in Clarinbridge.
The county council has granted planning permission for the project, which consists of a community playground and parking area.
The playground would be located at Kilcornan close to Kilcornan woods and Clarinbridge village.
However, while it marks an important step forward for the project, funding for the construction and installation works has still not been secured.

Local Fianna Fail Councillor Martina Kinane says the playground is vital to the development of Clarinbridge.
