Transport Infrastructure Ireland under fire over inaction on N84

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Transport Infrastructure Ireland is coming under fire for refusing to fund improvement works on a section of the N84 Headford Road.

A motion submitted to TII by the county council requested upgrade works be carried out on the road between Luimnagh and Ballindooley.

However, TII says it has assessed the proposals, but the road is not being prioritised for funding.

A large scale public meeting is being organised for next month to help gather momentum for the road safety campaign.

Local county councillor James Charity says N84 upgrade works need to be pushed higher up the government's agenda.
