Two Galway schools named as having the worst broadband in the country

Two Galway primary schools have been named as having some of the slowest school broadband connections in Ireland.

Figures released by the Department of Education show almost six out of ten primary schools have broadband speeds below the minimum level of connectivity for access to the internet.

Killasolan National School in the Caltra area, and Scoil Náisiúnta Noafa Padraig in Fohenagh are named as having download speeds of just one megabit per second.

Statistics released under freedom of information show 57 percent of primary schools had expected download speeds below 30 megabits at the end of 2018-2019.
