Work is now underway to upgrade two playgrounds in Ballinasloe.
The playground at Hymany Park and one behind Coral Leisure each received €50,000 under the Community Recognition Fund.
The works will include a general upgrade - but with a focus on new equipment for children with additional needs.
While the works take place the playgrounds will be closed , but are expected to re-open in the next fortnight.
