Young man taken to UHG after serious assault near Eyre Square

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A young man has been taken to UHG following a serious assault in the city centre overnight.

The incident took place near Charcoal Grill close to Eyre Square in the early hours.

Gardaí are at the scene this morning, which currently remains sealed off.

It's understood the young man suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
