Call for county council to have 24/7 contract to service traffic lights

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are calls for Galway County Council to have a 24/7 contract to service traffic lights.

Local Councillor Jim Cuddy is making the call after lights at Carnmore Cross were out of order from Friday last to Monday afternoon.

The Athenry/Oranmore councillor claims the temporary flashing lights put in place were "totally inadequate" in terms of road safety.

Councillor Cuddy says having no access to service on weekends is not good enough.
