Galway Bay fm newsroom - A man rescued from the water near the Claddagh in the city yesterday is believed to be safe and well.

Gardaí and several units of the fire brigade responded to an incident at Nimmo's Pier shortly before 4pm.

Gardaí this morning have cofirmed that the man received treatment at the scene, and didn't require any further treatment.
