The volunteer crew of Clifden RNLI this week rescued two visiting sailors in Inishbofin harbour.
Early yesterday their sailing boat came off her mooring and went aground on a rocky stretch of coast.
Both of Clifden’s lifeboats were launched and weather conditions at the time were favourable, with calm seas.
The lifeboat crew worked together in the darkness to establish a tow-line and guide the sailing boat to a new, secure mooring in the harbour.
Both sailors were unharmed.
