The Tánaiste has pledged to raise the issue of a new school for Carrabane National School with Education Minister, Hildegarde Naughton.
The matter was raised in the Dáil by Galway East Fianna Fáil TD Albert Dolan.
He said while he didn't expect an immediate answer in the chamber, there's immense frustration in the community over long-running delays to the project.
A campaign for a new school has been ongoing for two decades, and although a new school has been approved, there's still no clarity on when a shovel might go into the ground.
Speaking in response, Tánaiste Simon Harris gave a commitment that he would immediately talk to Education Minister and Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton.
