Disappointment as Portumna's long-running Christmas charity swim cancelled

The cancellation of Portumna's long-running Christmas charity swim is being described as frustrating

A Do Not Swim notice and red flag was placed at the lake in August, due to safety concerns raised over reeds in the water.

The closure has not yet been lifted, leaving organisers with no choice but to cancel the event, which has been running for several decades.
