A Do Not Swim Advisory Notice has been issued for Grattan Road Beach in Salthill due to high levels of E.coli Bacteria.
The City Council has issued the notice after preliminary results of sampling taken on Monday 8th September.
The notice may need to be updated from Advisory to Prohibition, depending on further results expected today.
Galway City Council says an update will be issued as soon as further details are available.
