Five Galway people appointed Centenarian Ambassadors

Five Galway people are among 48 Centenarian Ambassadors appointed nationwide

The selected ambassadors were born between 1920 and 1926 and they were chosen ahead of the release of the 1926 Census.

Their first-hand personal testimony of the past century of Irish life has been captured with video and photo stories and will be held by the National Archives

The Galway-based people selected are:

Sr. Agatha Durkan originally from Knocknasheeha in Waterford

Sr. Dorothy Duggan from Lagoo, Moyglass, Loughrea

Sr. Felicitas Geraghty from Annabeg in Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe
