Figures from the Veterinary Council of Ireland show 20 new vets were registered across the county during 2022.

That's on-par with Cork, and behind Dublin with 32 new registrations.

Overall, the total number of vets and nurses nationwide is at an all-time high.

There are currently 3399 registered vets, and 1245 veterinary nurses.
