Galway national schools win big at National Drama Festival

6 Galway national schools have taken home awards at the National School Drama festival.

A total of 7 prizes were won by the schools at the nation-wide awards, which took place in Mullingar.

Gaelsoil Mic Amhlaigh, Knocknacarra won two prizes, for their plays Oisín i dTír na nÓg, and Codladh Céad Bliain.

Gaelscoil Dara in Renmore won Best Ensemble for their play, An tOráiste, and Scoil Sailearna, Indreabhán, were selected as the Best Gaeltacht Primary School play.

Scoil Naisiúnta Mhic Dara, An Cheathrú Rua, Coláiste Chroí Mhuire in An Spidéal and Scoil Cholmchille, Ros a'Mhíl also took home awards on the day.

The festival, which featured more than 40 plays from around the country, celebrates both the history and future of Irish Language plays and musicals.
