HSE Chief says Galway "behind the curve" in healthcare infrastructure

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The CEO of the HSE has admitted that Galway is "behind the curve" when it comes to healthcare infrastructure.

Bernard Gloster was speaking during a Dáil Committee hearing on the HSE National Service Plan for 2023.

He responded to Senator Sean Kyne, who raised issues about significant delays in progressing vital projects in Galway.

They include a planned new emergency department at UHG, and a planned elective hospital at Merlin Park.

Bernard Gloster agreed that Galway is somewhat behind the curve compared to other counties.
