Kilconly man elected president of Union of Students in Ireland

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Kilconly native Michael Kerrigan has been elected national President of the Union of Students in Ireland.

Michael Kerrigan studied at St. Patrick's College, Tuam and GMIT.

He currently serves the national student movement as its Vice President for the Border, Midlands and Western region -  and will now be succeeded by Jimmy McGovern, the current NUI Galway SU President.

NUI Galway student Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha has been elected national Vice President for the Irish Language.

Amy Kelly, current President of GMIT Students' Union will take up the role of USI Vice President for Campaigns.
