Local TD writes to Transport Minister for 30km/h limits on school roads

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Local TD Sean Canney has written to the Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan, asking him to reduce the speed limit on school roads to 30km/h.

Galway East Deputy Canney says many local school principals and parents are concerned about the risk to their children on the roads.

The Independent TD believes this reduction in speed could be key to encouraging more children to walk and cycle to school.
