Mayor calls on Government to set legal max workplace temps

The Mayor of Galway is calling on the Government to set a legal maximum temperature for workplaces.

Helen Ogbu says in light of the recent hot spell and generally rising temperatures, workers in Galway deserve the same legal protections as exist in many other EU countries.

She says while Ireland does have a legally defined minimum temperatures, there is nothing on the other end of the scale.

Labour Councillor Ogbu argues our laws must reflect reality.
