UHG was in the top five most overcrowded hospitals last month, according to the INMO.
There were 617 partients left on trolleys at University Hospital Galway in June.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation have revealed that, nationally, 9,612 admitted patients spent time on trolleys waiting for a bed in June.
University Hospital Limerick was the most overcrowded last month, following by Cork University Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital and UHG in fifth.
Figures show 66,400 patients have now been recorded on trolleys in the first half of 2026.
That's an increase of 12 percent compared to the same period last year, and the INMO says that could indicate a record-breaking year for trolley admissions unless urgent measures are taken
