Sales of new electric vehicles in Galway are up by 71 percent compared to last year.
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry has released its official 261 new vehicle registration statistics for June.
749 new EV sales have been recorded since the start of 2026 - a 71 percent increase on the 438 during the first six months of 2025.
Meanwhile, new regular car sales in Galway are more or less in line with last year's figures - with 3,512 recorded so far this year.

Nationally, hybrid continues to lead the market at a quarter of sales, followed closely by Electric and Petrol.
