Over 200 thousand euros of funding has been allocated to public libraries in Galway
€200,128 will go towards supporting libraries and is being delivered under the Libraries Capital Programme
The funding will be used for purchasing sensory equipment and facilities, accessibility upgrades, ICT and broadband enhancements, and furniture upgrades.
Galway has received the second highest allocation, behind only Dublin City, which received over 217 thousand euros
The investment aims to make public libraries more inclusive and accessible and develop them further as digitally connected hubs
Nationally, a total of €3 million in funding is to be shared by 25 local authorities.
