Galway Bay fm newsroom - Local TD Ciaran Cannon is calling for the vacant building refurbishment scheme to also include rental properties.

The Croí Conaithe scheme offers a grant of up to €50,000 to refurbish vacant and derelict properties.

However, to avail of the grant currently, applicants must use the property as their principal private residence.
