Improvement works have begun on the existing cycle lane and footpath on the Headford Road.
The works are due to be completed within four weeks, and traffic management will be in place, including lane closures, between 10AM-4PM daily.
The works area is on the northbound side of Headford Road, between the bus stop opposite Terryland Retail Park and the Kirwan Junction.
Galway City Council and contractors John Madden & Sons are thanking road users for their co-operation and wish to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
